A FishNet / monofilament fishing line (or equivalent) slices the clay cake. Keep the mould oil-moist as lubricant — wipe extra oil with a toothbrush or paper.
Reuse of clay: roll or fold scraps into a tube and reuse the same clay — don't take a fresh slice every time.

Core team members make a few moorthi's themselves before procuring clay from the local store — learn the mould first.
Place the moorthi in a bucket full of water on your lawn. Refill with a hose or rain water daily, so it dissolves quicker.
